Chris Athanasiadis and his brother George bought Dandenong Car Wreckers in 1980. The company was started by a man named Smithy in 1920 at the site which now is the Dandenong Town Hall. Arguably, Dandenong Car Wreckers is the oldest continuing operating Auto Recycler in Melbourne. Does anyone know of any currently operating Auto Recyclers that has been in continual business since before 1920 in Melbourne, in Victoria or even Australia?

Through much hard work the Athanasiadis family (Chris, wife Parthena, son Jim & daughter Sim) and their staff, have built the business to its present size of 12.5 acres, 22,000 square foot of modern warehouse, showroom and office, and over 1,000 late model cars. Even today, the business is open 7 days a week.

We not only sell car parts but the business doubles as a car dealership. They pride themselves on professionalism, knowledge and great customer service. All parts are under warranty and they provide a delivery service through out Melbourne.
